Really funny guy with lots of good compositions and educational programs for primary/secondary school....I love the big bang series on vhs. Was wondering if there was anything else he produced worth looking at for teaching? Like musicology or composition/working with technology in music?

ps the British comedies uses alot of his stuff, and they are absolutely hilarious! gotta love the BBC :)

He did an excellent series on the history and development of the Organ. It was both informative and funny.

the Organ? I must check that out...Its not the same as the creation as equal temperament and the keyboard was it? in the big bang series?

Anyways, looks like this thread is dying, I just wanted some input on repetoire to teach to kids which they will know and have heard of and think it "cool"...I have done a unit of work on music for tv series and comedies, I let my students watch Red Dwarf, Mr Bean, The Simpsons, Blackadder, Seinfeld etc... and turned theme songs into very simple arrangements or single line meldoies so  they could play as a class...They love educational videos and music for television, and Howard Goodall composes alot of music which are "classical" in concept but fits the series quiet well in our time. Just thought if you have heard any other stuff of his? Or any composers and educators who put stuff out for tv music/film music/program music/muisc with imagery etc...

The series is named "Works for Organ", different of the Big Bang one. He also has a choral music series and currently the channel Film and Arts transmits "Great Dates". All is great material.
