I am always mystified how someone can afford to purchase and maintain a grand piano, but will go to such lengths to avoid paying a few dollars for music.
I would say most booklets of sheet music cost around $5.95.
I doubt this expense is going to take bread out of the children's mouths.
Lots of suppositions here!
I don't have a grand piano. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a piano at home. For the two years that I have studied piano, my teacher still doesn't know that I don't have a piano. Every evening after work, I have to hussle and beg different people who own pianos to let me practice. Even at times to have sex with ugly old men in order to secure a few weeks of practice time in their homes. I live in a very small basement apartment, where it's impossible to play any music instrument without being kicked out by my landlord.
It's the love of music that sustains me.
And yes, I have to watch pennies .... to pay my tuition. My teacher charges in my area $80 an hour.
So, next time, when you say, "Let them eat cake!" please remember not everyone is as fortunate as you are.
