What's your greatest stunt ?  Either intentional or unintentional.

Here is one of mine :  jumping off of a waterfall a little over 12 meters high (that was intentional, but I thought I was going to drown afterwards  :P )

I am feeling adventurous, he he.  Anyone else ?

making a load of bicyclists think i was going to hit the gate before them.  and then, at the last minute i swerve and take the little path next to the gate.  i could hear them all breath a sigh of relief, because they weren't stopping either.  it was so funny, i couldn't stop laughing.  of course, this is serious.

going downhill on a bicycle trail with a u curve at 70 mph.  thankfully, my bike can turn on a dime.  i just break a little, and try not to cross the line incase someone's coming up.

my best and most stupid stunt was going bicycling in lancaster, california at 12:00 noon (on a 15 mile stint) when it was close to 100 degrees.  i ran out of water halfway and started praying (feeling faint and no trees for shade or water).  then, i passed a small church and got both.  they had a water fountain in an inner courtyard and trees.  i said "thanks God."  and after that, stopped by for refills a lot.

ps one thing that i have learned is that when you exercise in the heat, the number one thing is to get your body temp down if you are overheating.  the fastest way is to pour some of your water on your skin (arms, legs) and THEN drink it.  much faster than just drinking all the water.
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

pianonut, you sound like a much better cyclist than I am. The one time I took a bike down a mountain I biffed on a flat run, must've skidded a good 25 feet. My elbow and shoulder looked like beef jerky.

I think the dumbest thing I've done is climb a cliff face without any safety gear, or climbing experience for that matter. We get up to the cliff, look up and go "this is a bad idea". 100 feet up I take a peek at the rocks below me, on my wobbly foothold and I realised how bad... One slip and any one of us would have been dead.

I'd like to try skydiving.

Whoa.. that sounds pretty intense rc.  I also *used* to think I wanted to try skydiving, and hang-gliding.  Those were big on my list, along with bungee jumping.  I *strangely* don't have the desire anymore  :-.

Okay, here's one (but I don't know if it really counts as a "stunt" per se) : I pierced my own belly button (not recommended) LOL, as well as a bunch of ear-piercings.  Most of those are gone now though.

I have never done anything even remotely daring.  As a child, I was always very concerned for my physical safety and avoided sports if the ball moved too fast or was hard and might hurt.  No rides at amusement parks, no danger or even the feeling of it.  Now, as a grown man, I see that this was a developmental flaw.  What can I do?  (seriously)

Anyway, Pianonut, I'm so so impressed--70 mph!  You must be a fun person.

well, it feels like 70 mph. anyway.  people usually turn around because they want to see if i'll crash.  then, they are semi-shocked to see the turn.  my brakes squeak a lot.

if you want to be more daring, get a head injury.  it's probably why i am so daring at my age.  i've had a few spills when younger.  you learn not to stop on gravel.  understand about ground meat (especially on the elbows - as my left elbow got it once).

made like 5 feet of air with my car over a jump at 50 mph. It made such a bang when we landed (a friend was in the car) that I got out to make sure none of the tires or chassis got busted.

This was not intentional as I, like Thalberg, am hopelessly unadventurous physically. A few years ago the dentist cleaned out a couple of my root canals with no anaesthetic. She told me the nerves were gone. They weren't. Just why I finished hanging on like grim death doing frantic mental algebra concerning the pattern of holes in the ceiling therefore came as a surprise. Fortunately, she couldn't find the third canal in the tooth and a more experienced dentist took over and gave me an injection.

Mind you, my grandmother told me she had all her teeth pulled out with a pair of pliers without anaesthetic when she was a girl in the 1880s, and my experience gave me some idea of what people put up with in those days.

When I was 6 and trying to learn how to ride my bike, my mom was busy one day and suggested that the neighbors' son go with me (he was like 16).

There was a lot of construction going on in our neighborhood (this was in Germany, not to far from Augsburg), and we stupidly decided to go on the street where it was. The construction was this huge hole dug with gravel rather than soil where they'd build a new apartment building with underground parking.
Well, when I attempted riding, he let me go and I was going for a few seconds when suddenly I lost control and fell down this huge hole (I mean this is like a DEEP hole), tumbling away. I remember it all so well, lol. I made like this weird sound like I was bouncing as I rolled down and I didn't know when the heck I'd stop. My bike had stopped way before I did, and the guy came right after me. I stopped before he reached me, though, and that was nearly at the end. >_>

I had all these cuts over me, but oddly enough, it didn't hurt. o_O
For some reason though I started crying when he finally got to me XD lol

hmmm i really can't think of anything exciting i've done in that area- though a friend i'm travelling to NZ has suggested we go bungy jumping naked cos it's half price. i somehow don't think i'll be doing that...

but one thing a couple of girls in my year did back in yr9- in our school hall we have the gallery, and directly underneath that is all the gym stuff, so giant matts and rectangular cushy things to crash upon when doing somersaults and blah. so anyway these 2 girls decide to jump from the gallery down onto the mats. one broke her ankle and i think the other may have been ok. they were suspended for like a week though...

For me it was free-diving to great depths...,

I did blow my left eardrum, when I went to about 90 ft with a cold one time....and it never healed well.....

Er...being pushed down a huge steep slope in a shopping trolley at 3am, hitting the curb, being thrown out the trolley across onto the main road, landing on my head and being uninjured (apart from bruises and sore shoulders/neck for 3 days).

:-\  (secretly likes to tease thalbergmad.  does he really get mad?)

jenni, that must have hurt.

ps  just googled ben nevis.  oh.  it's the highest mountain in the uk and located in scottish highlands.  oh and the name means dangerous or something.  ok.  i'm impressed.

Its the highest but also one of the easiest in Scotland as the path is like a road in some places. It's still a bit of a slog though as you start at sea level, go to 4406 feet and back.

A couple of years ago someone took a piano up there, played a few pieces then took it back.

My time of 8 hours is not threatening to enter the record books.

What i lack in endurance i make up with good looks.

Hmm, i will dig through my photo album as i got someone to take a picture of me on the summit.

I wonder what you will think of the dress sense this time??
