Moderators.

I am looking around the site, and am noticing a lot more people breaking rules and stuff, around here. I looked at some other forums, and they all have moderators. MAybe a few members could be picked who have been active for a long time, who can delete and edit posts, ban users, basically the same as an Administrator, only without being able to access the Admin Panel (Or the whatever it is). Is this a good idea?

Well there's been some swearing, and insults to other people etc.

Yes, I've seen it now.  I must have got desensitized.  Even the most infamous words are right out there.

We should all probably help Nils out and use the Report To Moderator button.

yeah just have a rant to nils about it. cos say if you made me moderator, i would most probably go around banning those who were annoying the hell out of me, and then everyone else'd get annoyed at me, and then maybe another mod would ban me, so i'd ban them back. and it could get very messy!!

I think swearing and heated arguments as long as they are pertaining to piano, are fine. It makes things interesting.

Yes, please make use of the "Report to moderator" link as soon as you come a across something you feel I need to take a look at.
It is just two clicks on the mouse button for you (the comments field is not required) but extremely helpful in order to keep the forum clean and professional.

i know this topic is old but - *bump*

is there any way we can get some mods on this site? i think we could use a few active and dedicated members to take up this job. one man doing everything to me sounds a bit harsh. mods would really take the burden off the admin.

There's not many swearing or breaking of rules in this forum. It is a lot cleaner than other forii I have seen, IMO, a moderator is not yet necessary.

I cite these from the guidelines page:

Do not bump threads. Bumping can refer to posting useless information, making corrections or updates in a new post, posting one-liners or any other action to deliberately keep a thread hot or to bring it to the top of its forum.

Do not post just to increase your number of posts. The number of posts on this board has no relation to the experience of a member.

It is difficult to indict people over these, but I think a couple "[reports] to moderator" would be helpful in tackling the problems.
