Chopin's Scherzo in B flat minor
on: August 17, 2005, 01:59:45 PM
I'm planning to have this piece in my repertoire.
Anyone got the sheets for this?
Is this a difficult piece?

Thanks

I tried to send it to the email adress in your profile, but it didn't work.

The difficulty of this piece is based on your own skill, and I no nothing about that, so I can't tell how difficult the Scherzo is for you :) .

if you play the above repertoire (well) than you should have no problem with the Scherzo. The only really difficult spots are the end of the development section and the coda
good luck!

Thanks! However I am looking for a piece i don't think i can learn. I play 10/4 well and the FI very well. So if this piece is not much more difficult than this, I don't  want to learn it. I'm looking forward to a real challenge. I heard that this piece was the challenge i wanted from a friend, but after your review I'm not eager to start with it anymore...

Please tell me if this piece is worth doing or not. I want it much more difficult than those two I already learned by Chopin.

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to seeing the sheets of this piece!

Thanks for answers

I've sent the sheets to you.

It surely will be a challenge, as Wintervind probably compared the technical difficulty of the piece. On the Scherzo you can work on for months, years, to improve every little bit of the piece. So it will definately be a challenge to play it near-perfect.

it is probably the easiest of the scherzos, but its no walk in the park by any means.  I also think it would be a great piece for anyone to have in their repertoire.  Give it a shot!~

I think the b minor op.20 is the easiset Scherzo, it has so much repetition; 18 pages long but only 8 or 9 of material! I would say the E major op. 54 is the hardest,a very elusive piece, hard to get a handle on IMO.

This piece will be good for you Triton in view of your current rep, it's the perfect step up.
