Satie's "Je Te Veux"
on: August 20, 2005, 01:51:51 AM
Hi, I'm back with yet another recording.   :)

This piece is a pretty popular waltz by Satie. I think he wrote it for voice and piano, but now it enjoys much more popularity as a solo piano piece.

My slip ups are salient at times, but I never expect to be perfect anyways.  ;D

Thanks for listening and/or replying. Enjoy.  ;)

This piece is very charming. I really enjoyed it. It also sounds as though that piano of yours works well with it. Is there an online source for the sheet music. I suddenly want to play it as well.  :)

Thanks for the compliment.   :)

Unfortunately, I don't know where you would be able to find the sheet music on the web...sorry.

I particularly like the way the 1-2-3 of the waltz was handled: always present, but never overwhelming. Otherwise, I'm not familiar enough with this piece to offer any critical comment; it's way beyond Satie's Gymnopedie's and Gnossiennes. But it seems to end abruptly - perhaps there was some file size limit.

If you haven't already got it in your repertoire, Scott Joplin's "Bethena - A Concert Waltz" might be of interest. (For MIDI files, etc., see https://www.cdbaby.com/ritchie.)

Regards,
Jim Ritchie
