c c' c'' c''' - what is this notation called? I've googled, but can't seem to find anything because I don't know it's name. Also would you have a link to a guide of some sort to writing this notation.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

AB guide to music theory calls it pitch specifications. To use it:
C' is three octaves below middle C
C is two octaves below middle C
c is an octave below middle C
c' is middle C
c'' is an octave above
c''' two octaves above etc.
the entire pitch range is A''' to c'''''

I actually knew that once... It is of course the key c in different octaves. But I don't remember what it was called, nor any more than I just said.. lol..
BUt I read it in a book called "Music Notation" by Gardner Read (
https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0800854535/plainsongs/104-1602823-5868706
)
If I have the time I might check in at the library tomorrow and find the book and check it out.. You made me curious as well

I think it's just called octave identification. But people now use the Braille music notation.
