The sound is too bad. First of all, decrease the recording level so that the digital sound be not clipped. Here much distortion is due too clipping. If you are using your computer for recording, you can tune the recording level in the setup of the audio card. It's a pity because it seems to be nice music...

I couldn't decrease the recording level, because I'm recording with my portable player which does not support a changing recording level (the mike input on my PC is even noisier than this).
Instead, I placed it somewhat further, and now there is much less clipping, though I think the piano sound suffers somewhat from that change.
I've also added a bonus track: the third poetic tone picture (op.3 no.3).

The sound is much better but may still be improved by placing your recorder still further (your record still reach the maximum digital level at some times)
Your interpretation has much contrast. But I do not find great depth in this music (a comment to Grieg, no to you...). Did you listen to the Elegy, another Grieg piano work available here?
Anyway, good job!

I am familiar with the Elegy, and play it occasionally - it's easy enough to return to without practicing it.  I don't find the first poetic tone picture to have less depth - and I think it ranks with some of the best lyric pieces (though the rest of op.3 is not as good).
I agree the third picture has no depth, but I don't think it is meant to have depth - it is well-written and satisfying as a short scherzo.
