What do you think about the Yamaha SU series? Is there a real difference to the U series (besides the price)?

Referring to the upright and smaller grands, I think:

the SU are better than the U
they are, as I understand, to some extent made of selected materials and handfinished which shows in the sound produced - more colour than the U
they are a real attempt to imitate good European pianos rather than just being made & priced for the mass market

Never had the pleasure of the 9 foot concert
