Sherman Clay (the steinway dealer) is sending someone over this weekend to buff the piano up.... That reminds me of the days when I used to check out the new S&S B's here at the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70's. After they delivered one they used to send a tech to put the piano together, then another to 'buff it up', then another to polish the keys (ivory, then), yet another to tune it and another to voice it and check it over - all 'part of the service'.
I always promised myself that if one day I were lucky enough to be able to order one for myslef, I would go through exactly the same process. Sadly, no B for me, though I do have a new Yamaha GC1 which I love in spite of its' misgivings.
Just one piece of advice to you, though - whatever you do, DON'T SIT ON THAT VIOLIN!! It might just leave a lasting impression on you, the violin, and the stool......
Nice ensemble - if you run out of arms to play that lot, give me a call.
