mozart concerto KV413 F major
on: September 10, 2005, 06:57:05 PM
few days ago I got this beautiful concerto. in fact, I need just 2nd movement for audition, but today teacher told me we're going to work on other movements too.
I even dare to say it's the best mozart piece I've ever heard.
If somebody can recommend some good recordings of it, I'd be grateful.
I've already heard Andras Schiff playing with Camerata Academica from Mozarteum Salzburg, and I really liked that recording.

This is perhaps my favourite lesser known/performed Mozart piano concerto; perhaps it is not as profound as some of his later concerti, but it has many moments of beauty which endear it to me just the same - I'm particularly partial to the build-ups to the end of the exposition and recapitulation in the first movement (quite why, I can't say, but why look for explanations of why music moves you?). Anyway, I have Jeno Jando's recording for Naxos, and like most Naxos recordings it's reasonably good quality and cheap on top of it. This particular edition comes coupled with the equally good Concerto KV482 in E-flat major, another personal favourite.
