"Some People" by Mayla Fox

Okay, I composed this about a year ago.  It's me singing and playing and the piano accompaniment is minimalistic, as you will hear.

As far as the sound quality, there is a little click that happens occasionally within the first 1'20 and goes away after that (if you just concentrate on the singing  , you won't think too much of the clicking)... and I put an echo on it because.. well, I love it that way AND I want to haunt you ...    (it also makes me think I singing into some great canyon or on a stage with lots of feedback... LOL)

Thanks for listening

This is basically a double post from this thread here :

(just posting in here to have an mp3 format available for those who could not listen on the other thread)

Thank you, m1469. You have a lovely warm voice and it's a beautiful melody. I had a little trouble understanding some of the words; I'll try again later when it's not raining (window is near computer). (I often have trouble with words, so don't blame your diction!)

Well, thank you for your feedback, abell.  I do just have to comment briefly on my diction, because I have been wondering when somebody might bring it up.  There are a few words where one cannot even hear the ending consonant  :-[, and I have been curious what somebody might think I am saying in those spots.  I have felt like if I did not actually know what I was singing, I probably would have to fill in the words myself, as the listener.  So, perhaps some of it is you, I don't know, but I am sure that a chunk of it is indeed me.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi m1469, have you written this out? or have the chord changes, I htink it would be really nice to have some strings in the background

perhaps you would allow me to record some strings over the top using the chords and give you a recording with it overlayed on a seperate track?

Awesome!  I love it!  You have an amazing voice.  The echo on it is great, really haunting.  It will certainly find its way to my mp3-player  :)

It works better if you plug it in...

Well, I would definitely enjoy exploring things like that with it myself.  If you feel inspired to do so, go for it !  It would be really interesting if you posted it here, too.

Here are the chords :

First verse :

C    (cegc_egc)   ?  (cfac_fgb)
C    (cegc_egc)   ?  (cfac_fgb)
Am  (acea_cea)   ?  (adfa_df)/(adfa_def)

Second Verse :
(same as first)

Third verse :
F G Am

Awesome! I love it! You have an amazing voice. The echo on it is great, really haunting. It will certainly find its way to my mp3-player :)

Thank you very much, calidris.   I am very happy that you enjoy it  :)
