Rachmaninov editions
on: October 01, 2005, 04:21:06 AM
Sorry if this has been asked before but, what is a good edition for Rachmaninov preludes and etudes?  I've looked at the Dover and it really doesn't do anything for me.  It's got sparse fingering, a lot of it looks hand drawn.  Certainly very inconsistent.  I was wondering if there were any really good editions for these works?  I remember finding a really good edition of his G minor prelude with some nice fingerings at the library in my old university a few years ago but I really don't remember what edition that was.  :-\

Greetings

I have the following edition for the Piano Preludes from Boosey & Hawkes. The musical text of this edition has been checked against photocopies of the original manuscripts and proofs.

24 Piano Preludes

For the same series, the following is available.

Etudes-Tableaux Op.33 & Op.39

Cheers
