composer favourites

which were the favourite pieces of composers amongst their own work. for example, i read somewhere that Chopin liked his theme of his op10 no.3 etude best and considered it his most beautiful theme. any ideas about mozart, beethoven, etc.

Beethovens favorite sonatas were the Hamerklavier, the Appaisonata, and Op. 78.

At the time it was written, Mozart's Quintet for Piano and Winds, K. 452 was Mozart's favorite composition (or, at least he thought it was his greatest).
