practise routine

How does it looks for you pianoplayer about the practise routine? Do you need to practise EVERY day 4-8hours (depends of age group..) Like your schedule looks like wake up-shower-breakfast-upwarming (etudes include) exercises for 30-1 hour and then practise music 3-4 hours-lunch break - chatting with friends (if they are free..) make some other things-reading-go for a walk etc.-practise for another 4 hours -having dinner-watch TV- or just practise until you go to bed---this routine to keep practise going on (f.ex before a competition or concert)-it is very discsplined way and sometimes one can feel fed up one day---how does it looks for you? Do you think it is not good if you practise just how you feel in different condition-like uneven schedule or is it doesnt matter how your mood is that day-you just have to keep the discipline?

well Redberry the 2 methods you stated shows the difference between disciplined practice and undisciplined practice (not sure if there's such a word but wutever!
)
If you are really that devoted into piano, eg if you're a pianist and you earn your living off performing, or if you are preparing for a performance or competition, I think this style of practicing wouldn't hurt. One important thing to keep in mind though, is to always keep your mind in focus, don't let your conscience wander off into the next meal or something. If it starts happening, take a break to let your senses chill and then get back to practicing, or else it'll really burn your stamina
However in the modern world with all our available entertainment I don't think many ppl actually practice that much unless the piano is their profession
