Chopin Military Polonaise
on: October 24, 2005, 03:12:56 AM
Hi,

As you probably already know from all my other recordings, by piano is tuned!

Anyways, it's slightly unrefined playing, but please listen!

Thanks.

A few suggestions:

1)USE THE PEDAL
2)Don't rush the repeated octaves. I noticed you doing this on about every one of these.
3)The only you should speed up, but only a little, is when you are doing the chromatic octaves in the C and D sections
4)Stop using staccato on chords that don't need or have it written above it.
5)If your going to roll the chord in the A section in the left hand, use the pedal so it won't sound so short.
6)Put more feeling into it.
7)Listen to different recordings of the piece to get a feel of how the piece is supposed to go. But don't base your playing off of somebody elses style. Here's a link to Idil Biret playing the piece. https://www.classicsforkids.com/music/music_view.asp?id=28 when youre there, click on 'Polonaise in A Major'

Otherwise it was a decent performance. You pretty much kept a steady tempo, and you almost got all of the notes right. Keep working on it! ;)
Otherwise

Thanks.

That's really helpful!

I listened to my recording, and I do notice some things you have suggested.
