PLEASE HELP!!
on: August 29, 2003, 09:43:35 PM
I inherited a pre-1905 Harwood Upright Grand made for JW Jennings and Sons Music Co. NY.
Can anyone tell me the approximate value or direct me to a website where I can get more information on it. All keys are working and it has some minor markings.
Any info would be appreciated.

Sam, good luck. I really doubt it's worth anything.

Sam, I don't know about that particular old piano but typically old pianos are NOT worth anything monetarily. Old pianos are just not the same as antique furniture. They don't gain any value-unless they have a "big" name like Steinway or Schimmel etc & are rebuilt. Some will even go so far as to tell you you're lucky if someone will take an old piano off your hands for free (rather than you have to pay to get it hauled off)
I'm sorry, I know thats not what you want to hear.
Here is a site for you:
https://www.bluebookofpianos.com
There is lots of information there on pianos.
good luck.
