hi my name is tash and i'm obesely addicted to spider solitaire :-[ i once solved the problem by deleting it off my computer, but saved it on a cd. then got hooked on freecell but got bored of that. and hearts. and normal solitaire. so then i brought back spider solitaire and seriously whenever i'm bored i play it. except my wrist gets really sore from it's lazy movements on the mouse. so i must delete it. so what can i do that doesn'tr involve sitting at my computer, but is lazy enough for me to still keep my mind primarily on listening to the music coming out of my ipod? (thus eliminating reading books and playing the piano)...agh i hate being hooked!!

i know what you mean, it's a viscious cycle. you may well tire of it eventually, otherwise you have to consciously do other things instead of drifting to it like a moth to a light bulb. i say use the power of your mind to stop it, occupy yourself with other things before you get the urge to play.it's not easy, after all, we are creatures of habit, but you can form new and more productive habits and lose those you desire least.try go for a walk, drop by the mall, watch a sitcom on tv,take a power nap? whatever can work for you. dont get to frustrated with yourself, habits are difficult to break.

Buy a pack of playing cards? Although we do that despite having cupboards full of playing cards, so check first, you've probably got hundreds of packet of playing cards all hiding until you buy a new one and put it in the pile with the rest :)

Or switch the mouse to the other hand. If you switch the buttons [i.e set it for a left-handed mouse] in the mouse control panel you'll probably find it's the same to use as you'll be using your index finger to "left" click.

Or get a different type of pointing device. Something like a wacom graphics tablet that comes with a pen device, or one of the trackball devices. They take some getting used to initally though.

Or stick stickers on the first 52 keys of your piano [54 if the game uses jokers] and play cards that way. See which composer's pieces win at Texas hold 'em.

Try smoking Crack cocaine instead. It will take your mind off spider solitaire and it won't end up hurting your wrist.
