Piano trios for Cello, Clarinet and (of course) piano
on: November 10, 2005, 05:53:13 PM
Hi!
I'm searching for piano trios for these three instruments.
Sheets would be great but I also willingly accept just the works names  :)

I haven't played nor heard any trio with these three instruments so far, so it'd be great if you could give me some "standard repertoire" maybe.

thanks,
jabba

Beethoven Op. 11 - There's a version for violin or clarinet in it's place.  The third movement variations is quite wonderful.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Brahms:. Clarinet Trio in A minor, op. 114. One of his greatest works, indispensable.

Have you played Mozart's "Kegelstatt" trio?

Kegelstatt's viola not cello, you'd have to find an arrangement - i know there's one for 2 violins but not sure about cello.  Great fun though, rather difficult ensemble (1st mov. theme is rather tricky), but great fun of course!
Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.

The Brahms, Bartok and even Piazzola.

(If you want to listen to Beethoven op 11, I posted a recording of it in the audition room with my own trio -- violin instead of clarinet)
For a good laugh, check out my posts in the audition room, and tell me exactly how terrible they are :)

Thought it said trios with clarinet. Missed the cello part.
