I'm going to the NAC to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra play Rachmaninoff's fourth piano concerto and Mahler's symphony 5 in C sharp minor. I havn't heard either of these, how do you guys find them?

The Mahler is fantastic and contains the absolutely gorgeous Adagietto, which may be one of the most beautiful slow movements ever written.

The Rach concerto is excellent. Highly underrated.

Mahler 5 is a great masterpiece. I don't like the Rach 4, though.

It was excellent, only thing was Borezovsky was sick, so a pianist named Stewart Goodyear filled in. He was incredible. The program was changed from the 4th concerto to Rhapsody on a theme by Paginini... It was absolutely amazing, and he played an encore by Gershwin I forget what it was called though... The mahler was amazing too, each movement was amazing. I liked the intro with the C#C#C#C#, C#C#C#C#, C#C#C#E..etc
