Wild-Gershwin request
on: November 16, 2005, 02:13:41 PM
Im looking for the 7 virtuoso etudes by Earl Wild on Gershwin themes. Need to find them as soon as possible.

Can anyone spare them? I'm having a very hard time finding them here.
For a good laugh, check out my posts in the audition room, and tell me exactly how terrible they are :)

Try Chappell's of New Bond Street in London, they have most in stock of Earl Wild's stuff.  Also the publisher 'Ivory Classics' - Best of luck in your search.

I actually did an arrangement of embreaceable you based on his arrangement.  somewhat easier I think as i wrote it to fit my own technique. a pointless fact that I felt like sharing ;D

I can't remember exactly, I may gave played it at a lunch hour - i'll have to look for it.  It ended up being for my year 12 arranging project.

Don't think this one is really harder, but it's just different! I' find it difficult to play at speed.

Although, it's the Fascinating Rhythm/I Got Rhythm that I find hard 'cause you need strong arms!

Let me know if anyone else is playing Earl Wild... I'm doing 5 of them for my dissertation in March and would love to chat to people who have played them. Perhaps, ask about finguring difficulties etc... ::)

Let me know  :)
