Does anyone happen to know of any Modern Russian etudes for the piano?

Hi Ed,
         Well Im not sure. I was at piano course about three weeks ago and I heard a guy playing some Etudes, which he said were modern and composed by a Russian. I can't remember much more as the recital was very late at night. I would say within the last 50 years.
