Beethoven sonatas
on: November 27, 2005, 02:35:22 PM
A lot of the sonatas have a name like "Hammerklavier", "Pathetique",
 "Pastorale" etc.
Someone here who can make a complete list with all that names and the sonatas they belong to?

I heard over a radio request that a little girl learning op.31no.1 called it 'The Hiccup'. ;D I thought that was a pretty good name for it.

Well, not all of them have handy little nicknames, so that would be kind of difficult.

Beethoven himself only named one Sonatata and that´s Pathetique. The first part of Pathetique is propably the greatest part in any of his Sonatas.

No one has recorded the ultimate recording of Pathetique yet if you ask me.

I don´t like neither Schnabels or Brendel´s recordings.
