HEEEELLLLLPPPP!!!! (one more time!)
on: December 09, 2005, 07:14:20 AM
Okay guys, I bet you all hope I'll pass my history test tomorrow so I'll leave you all alone, and pestering you with questions about random composers/works!

Last 3 questions: (Please answer ASAP if you know because I'll be gone in less than 12 hours to my exam.  I've been studying all day and all day yesterday, and googling.  Please don't send me on a chase, because I seriously don't have time anymore.  I just need to know the Key and Form (rondo, ect), of the THIRD movement of Brahm's German Requiem.  Also, what is the definition of "sul tusto" is.  Thanks a million if you can do this within the next couple hours!

well, at www.mcchorus.org/prognt14.htm   it says something like, the third mov't is free form with a fugue attached to the end.  the free form is similart to a technique that he was copying from schumann's lieder. 'durchkomponiert' (have to look that one up).

ok.  it means through-composed with no repeat section.  hope this helps.  did i get it to you in time?

sul tasto - (in string playing) an indication to bow over the fingerboard.

trick - use an italian dictionary (translated of course).  some of the regular music dictionaries don't have the word.
