Self-employed Health Insurance
on: May 28, 2002, 03:20:02 AM
Wow. Self-employed health insurance for a single person is just a you-know-what. And expensive. Does anyone have any tips or tricks or advice they would like to share? I'm about to go crazy re-applying every year to keep my costs down, meanwhile the deductible goes up and up and up. Sorry this topic is so far from piano playing!

A lot of companies allow you to become part of a group in a similar work risk situation. Sometimes they just establish a "group" for each risk group, or sometimes it's called an association. Depends on the state you are in. But the rates are often a lot lower that way. Good luck!
