Schimmels

What do you think of Schimmels? They are reported to be the german Yamaha, except they are of a little higher quality.

Anybody have any experience with these pianos?  Especially the 7' and 8'4''.
Pianists are like firecrackers, they blow up sooner or later.

That's actually an interesting comparison - to Yamaha, because that's the way they strike me.  I played several 7' and an 8'4" in my search.  I actually liked the 7' better.  Perhaps I was expecting *more* out of the 8'4 (that's Schimmel's concert grand model - no 9' available).  The 7' is a very nice piano, and I actually liked it better than the Yamaha, myself.
So much music, so little time........

Comparing 7' Schimmels to 7' Yamahas, I would have the Yamaha S6 as my first choice, then the Schimmel 7', then the Yamaha C6. (Incidentally, that's also how their price tags compare.)

I have no experience with the 8'4" Schimmel, but would sure like to try one.
