no. but, it's very good you are careful. i'm sure it has to be bodily fluids (blood to blood).
i wonder this very same thing about nail salons. some are very careful to use new manicure sticks, clippers, etc. and some don't look like they are.
same at the hospital with needles. when you are mildly incapacitated - people can kill you even though you might be in for a minor surgery. i think, unless i was dying, i'd opt for no transfusion. the blood supply may be clear these days, but i don't want to take a chance. that was one of the bigger reasons that i had a closed reduction on my leg. it may sound silly to other people, but i don't want to be the 1 in a 100,000 people that get stuck with some blood borne disease from the hospital (like hepatitis).
i think it's excellent to speak up ahead of time and ask. is that a new blade, or orange stick, or needle?
* i know this is gross, but what if an HIV positive chef spit on a salad? would that do it? i suppose from day to day we never really know what's going on and have to have a certain amount of trust, too. if you are really concerned (like me) you might want to opt for a country town instead of the big city.
