The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Pathetique help
on: December 24, 2005, 07:46:12 PM
In the Pathetique sonata 1st movment, 2nd page how should I approach the left hand and the right hand, should I count were the C's meet with the right hand chords or should I just play the left hand and add the right hand chords as written. What I am trying to say is do I have to count 1 and 2 and 1 and 2 and then combind the right hand or what? Please help

you are looking for a tremolo effect with the left hand, with the lowest left-hand register supporting the right hand assention, but use pedal for the susstained but not too much. it wants to be feirly tight.

playing the exact notes for the tremolo effect is important. but try not to make it sound as if you are counting it. what i mean is, get rid of the bar lines during performance.
