Liszt Transwotsit Etudes
on: January 01, 2006, 10:09:16 PM
Please can someone list these in order of difficulty? I want to play any of them... but which to go for first? I have used the search feature but there were no lists... just many of threads discussing them. I would appreciuate a list from 1 to 12... thanks,
Tom
Working on: Schubert - Piano Sonata D.664, Ravel - Sonatine, Ginastera - Danzas Argentinas

“Transwotsit”—seriously, are you mentally handicapped?

I have foolishly been trying to learn one of these on and off, the 11th (and I'm glad I see it listed the 3rd easiest by you).

I wouldn't be to sure about the first one (Prelude) myself, but I know I specifically lack the technical abilities for it, no chance of playing it at speed OR making it sound nice, despite it's length.

Considering I poor I am at playing the piano, I would probably say the 11th is one of the easiest too, in saying that it's still bloomin hard, after all this time I'm still struggling on the first page's long Arp. Chords, and havn't even advanced past the first page. But concentration when learning it is next to none these days for me, so you'll probably hack it quicker then me.

The only other one I would attempt is Wild Jagd, Berezovskies performance is un-bloomin-believable, and makes me wanna try it myself! But more recently I been back on the easy stuff, and floating more on the Anime music as well, since there is loads of sweet piano melodies of anime tunes out there :)

Generally it seems most of us agree to say the 3 hardest are 4-5 and 12 .   1-3-6 seem to be considered the easier ones.
