Rondo alla turca (but not from Mozart...)
on: September 30, 2003, 10:42:45 PM
Hi Guys, I'm new here
I'm from Belgium and I've played the piano for over 10 years now...
Here's my question: once at a concert I heard somebody play a classic song called "Rondo alla turca" but it was not from Mozart....Unfortunately I don't remember the writer....Has anyone heard of it?
THANX :-)

Are you sure that It wasnt the first or second movement? Sometimes the Sonata in A is called that- the third mvmt. is the popular theme...

There is the Turkish march which Beethoven wrote and was transcribed by Anton Rubinstein. Also there is a transcription of Mozart's Rondo alla Turka by Volodos.
