and where would you randomly look up facts about cziffra to get the best story?  he played like liszt, right?

very interesting!  where's the rest of the story (after the 100 mile trek) after 1957.  i can't believe the things some composer's overcome.  and, being able to give music to the world when so much is taken away.  eight years away from his wife during the war sounds terrible.  my mom's dad was gone awhile, too.  i think she said she was age three when he left and around eight when he returned - and came back with tb.  he was in a sanitarium for a couple of years or more.  amazing that cziffra was ok.

yeah, cziffra was primarily a pianist, but a very unique one, one of the greatest improvisers of the past century, listen to what he did to get an idea of what liszt may have done when improvising.
