Best non-conservatory undergrad programs
on: January 07, 2006, 06:25:31 PM
Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had a list of rankings of universities/ colleges with somewhat-better music programs that aren't at the conservatory level (i.e. julliard, oberlin, vanderbilt, etc.)

I heard schools like Yale, and UC Berkeley are among the better (I think?)

anyways, if anyone could help out I'd be thankful.

I have heard good things about the University of Indiana, the University of North Texas, UCLA, and University of Florida.

I can vouch for North Texas. Around where I live, we all strive to be somewhat in the same league with North Texas, though we never accomplish this task. They truly are top notch.

Just curious, what did you hear that was good about the University of Florida? Far as I know, it's considered a distant 3rd or 4th in the state.
