I voted for quantum because he is the only regular improviser on the list and has quite a range of expression within that discipline.

:o wow, thanks for the vote Ted.

Funny I was thinking about you when looking at the list of names and why you wern't nominated (I hadn't scrolled down to see your post yet).  Oh, and congrats on making 1000 posts.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

i was unaware skepto made any recordings, since he has a wide range of pieces in his repetoire i would like to hear some.

Since Koji will predictably get a large amount of votes (and deservedly so) I would vote for Electrafingers, all of the recordings he has posted have been of a very high quality. I also heard a Beethoven 4th he posted on Chopin Files once which was awesome.

I think that's the point, the glaring discrepancy b/w what is claimed and what is posted.   ::)

I'm quite surprised and flattered to find my name on this list, because, quite frankly, people like koji and gaer are in a different (higher) league altogether!

That said, I would not vote because it is so difficult to decide between those two pianists - each have their own unique strengths, and moreover, a fair comparison would only be possible if gaer recorded on a beautfiul acoustic piano (as in koji's recording). Also, I am surprised that crazy for ivan moravec isn't on this list - his scriabin was breathtaking!

The best recording I've heard was by alhimia (or something like that, sorry about forgetting). I also liked some stuff by crazy for i.m. but he was not on the list either. Oh well. :)
