Liszt TE #1 Prelude ?
on: January 15, 2006, 08:01:35 AM
Hey

The piece that goes for about 1 minute, I thought I might have a go at this, to me the hardest part would be the part after the descending arpeggio at the beginning, finger independence to the max jeeze!! oh and another thing would be getting it up to speed, 160 bpm is way fast.

any tips, has anyone played this, and will it help my technique an finger independence?

Hmmm... Perhaps try this: instead of grouping the notes together by the beams, start with the double-note... This worked quite wonders for me.
Then the usual stuff, rythm variations etc..

Probably the ugliest part of all is the end of the RH run, right before the chord part... Very difficult for the thumb, if you use 2-14-2-15 (Still the most comfortable, at least for me...).

For the descending G7 trills, try playing the first note of the trill LH and the rest RH. It helps with the clarity of the chord...
