Question for anyone with a Yamaha Disklavier
on: January 21, 2006, 04:12:55 AM
I have a Mark IV. Is there anyway to get the acoustic *and* digital piano to play simultaneously? I want to layer the real piano with the digital.

I didn't think so either, until I got both of them to sound together a few nights ago. I presumed it was a malfunction because I didn't select anything from the handheld, it just sorta "happened" Then when I rebooted, I couldn't get it back.  I guess it was a one time thing. It sounded beautiful. The real piano strings with the reverb from the digital.

Orlando,
It wasn't a mistake and it is actually quite easy to do.  I don't have a handheld controller in front of me, but if you call your dealer where you purchased it, they should be able to walk you through it over the phone.  If they can't, ask your salesman to come out to your house and give you a little lesson.  I'm a Yamaha dealer and we do this all the time for customers, so don't hesitate to ask.
If you can't get the answers you want from your dealer, call the Yamaha tech support.  The number is 1-800-PRO-YAMAHA (just leave off the H A).
