sibley music library
on: January 24, 2006, 05:54:15 PM
just found a new site and it has a lot of music in pdf format (near the call number) that you can print out!! it's public domain stuff.

https://urresearch.rochester.edu/index.jsp   (from eastman school of music)  *takes a minute to load

click on ESM  at the left
then click 'musical scores'
then click the number with .pdf after it

lots of stuff there.  was just looking for something by mikuli and found it.

don't know how the music library (books) are - perhaps one can peruse them?  will find out.

someone asked about 'exercise studies in double notes for pianoforte' by isidore phillipe.  i typed in 'chopin mikuli edition' and strangely it showed up under the list.  it's in pdf format and can be printed out.

the search button is randomly amusing.  i typed in 'chopin mikuli edition' and found some scriabin preludes (very beautiful).  then i typed in 'piano music' and on the fourth page found the fantasie-impromptu by moritz moszkowski (i've always wanted to learn that one!  anyway - forget the search button and just have fun perusing what's there.  it doesn't seem to have a logical order.
