My favourite are:

Mendelssohnn n.1 in D minor (currently working on it)
Shostakovich n.2 in E minor
Tchaikovsky in A minor
Brahms n.1 in B major
Beethoven 'Archiduke'
And a few Mozart but can't exactly remember which ones

My favorite piano trio is Bill Evans' in the early sixties with Paul Motian and Scott LaFaro!  ;)

Others worth mentioning:

- Ravel trio in A minor.

- Dvorak - op. 90

Also, it's not a proper piano trio, but the Brahm horn trio (piano, violin and French horn) is my favorite chamber music piece.

the piano trio is my favorite form of chamber music. My all time favorites are:

Schubert Eb
Shostakovich 2
Ravel
Brahms 2

among many many others
For a good laugh, check out my posts in the audition room, and tell me exactly how terrible they are :)

Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Archduke, Schubert Bb, and a third early Schubert Bb piano trio which is quite obscure and is called a sonata. And Schoenfield!

I'm going to have to search through my recordings for the Ravel now...
