Okay, you must say, the Yundi Li video was quite impressive... Now take a look at Lim Dong Hyek, playing La Campanella, at age 15!

But it's not a video.  It's just a soundclip.

I don't know what's wrong, but at my computer, both they're video clips.  ::)

The clip of Yundi Li is a live video from a concert in Japan. The clip of the 15 year old is a videoperformance of him somewhere I don't know.

Well, I can understand if you don't like the performance of the 15 year old, everybody has his own taste, but you have to give him respect for playing La Campanella at a high level.  ;)

I enjoy Yundi Li's interpretation of LC very much - - - it's very exciting for the audience and I think Liszt would be very pleased.

It's painful for me to watch Yundi Li's hands while he plays, though - - - the way the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th fingers of his LH retract up and back when they're not in use, because visually this appears to create so much unneeded tension!!!  <-- Mechanically this would also result in his LH thumb pivoting outwards and tightening his forearm.... But clearly, it doesn't seem to affect his technique or stamina.  It works for him.

Kissins interpretation of La campanella is clearly the best of them all in my opinion. It's just lovely :)
