Lang Lang in Bejing yesterday
on: January 28, 2006, 09:33:55 PM
Hi everybody!

Lang Lang played Mozart in Bejing yesterday, January 27th, birthday of Mozart. A wonderful concert!

But which piece was the second (perhaps the last one) "extra-piece" he played? Very like Chopin, maybe it IS Chopin. (It was a waltz I think.)

I hope somebody know, because it was a wonderful piece!

I'm looking forward to answer!

Were you at the concert? I saw the Mozart concerto he played (no 24 i think?) broadcast on BBC 4...very enjoyable i would have loved to have been there. Lang Lang's hair looks very long these days too - i didn't recognise him!
"Mozart makes you believe in God - it cannot be by chance that such a phenomenon arrives into this world and then passes after 36 yrs, leaving behind such an unbounded no. of unparalled masterpieces"

No, I wasn't at the concert.

But, I ask again:  Somone who knows which piece the second (maybe the last one) extra number? It was like Chopin, and it was a waltz I thik. In 3/4 in any case...

I hope sombody know, because it was a really nice piece! And well played!

Heres a list of the things he played, maybe its one of them, download some of them and see, dunno if the list is in order.

  A selection from:
Overture "Cosi fan Tutte"
Piano Concerto no. 24 in C minor, K.491
Symphony No.25 in g minor, K.183
"Hai gia vint la causa!...vedro, mentr'io sospiro..." Count Almaviva's Aria from "Le Nozze di Figaro"
"Finch'han dal vino..." from "Don Giovanni"

Ahh! Thank you VERY much!
It was the Chopin Walt op. 34 no. 1. I couldn't just recognize the waltz, but thank you for helping me!

It was a wonderful concert!

I saw it on tv too.

And I'm really bad in english! :-)  When I wrote "extra number", I meant "encore". :-D
