Dear everyone using this forum! Im a norwegian pianostudent, living in Oslo, studying with Jiri Hlinka (Leif Ove Andsnes' teacher). This is my first topic at the forum, and I want to start with a short presentation:
I was born in the year 1987, wich makes me 18 years old. I didn't have any interest in music until i was 9, when my friend played the first movement of the moonlight-sonata and I said: "I want to play that one too!" The first years I didn't practise too often, but when I were in the audience in a national pianocompetition for youths, I realized I wanted to participate there, wich ment more regular and structured practising. Two years later I won this competition, and to years after that I had my "debut", playing Beethovens 2. concerto with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. I moved to Oslo (Capital of Norway) this summer, and got the overmentioned Jiri Hlinka as teacher. I practise 7 hours a day.
And then over to my question: I just started on Rachmaninovs 2. concerto, and wondered: Have anyone of you played it, and got any good advice(s), or experiences you want to share with me?
Please excuse my english
