auditions were today
on: February 11, 2006, 07:11:32 AM
well I had my auditions today. I did ok. I played Schubert impromptu in Bb and Bach's D maj prelude and fugue book 1. nothing went too bad with either one and I felt confident. That was until the next guy came and played. He played Beethoven's PC1 first mvt. and Rach's g minor prelude. I don't think he missed a note on either one and he played beautifully. I hope that doesn't screw my chance for a scholarship. Now comes the hard part in just waiting.

Fingers crossed, boliver!  I am sure you did just fine - where did you audition, if I may ask?

Houston Baptist University. I know I got in, I just don't know how big of a scholarship I got. I was accepted last year, but didn't get enough scholarship so decided to try again this year. fingers are crossed.

I had my audition yesterday, it went well, but am not sure if i will get in. However
the examiner did ask me a strange question, he said haw would you feel if you found that you are more advanced than the othe students :o. The sight reading went well and i think the theory paper was ok, but not 100% correct.
   Anyway goodluck BoliverAllmon. ;)

Well like you, i didnt play Rach 3 , all  32 beethoven  sonatas , and both Chopin piano concertos ( some people do). I just playd Chopin etude op25/1 and Beethoven tempest sonata, some might describe this as easy, but the examiners seemd very intrested with the performance.
