worst movie you've ever seen?
on: February 12, 2006, 11:18:43 PM
Hi all.

i just finished watching the worst movie i've ever seen.
Cabin Fever by Eli Roth.
this movie stinks, i can't figure out how he got the go ahead to shoot and distribute it.
omg what a terrible movie.
i never knew that anybody could be so stupid as to write such crap, direct it, release it, watch it, and worst of all enjoy it.

Excluding funny or good bad movies, Battlefield Earth is probably one of the worst movies I have seen. It was terrible beyond words, its hard to figure out what made this movie so bad.

A particularly terrible movie I have seen is a western called "The Quick and the Dead" with Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, and Russell Crowe.  What pisses me off is how so much great acting talent can come together and produce such a load of horseshit.  Maybe the director is just stupid.

Also, anything with Christian Slater or Orlando Bloom is ruined, just because someone decided to cast these people who dont have any clue how to act.

I can think of maybe 7 Canadian-made movies that are just terrible and not even worth the effort of remembering their titles.  Just know they were excreted by some Canadian filmmakers..

I often enjoy "bad" movies, few films are as entertaining as "Glen or Glenda", "A Crack in the World", "Roller Boogie", "Assault on a Queen", etc. I will intentionally watch these films for the inherent comedic genius. So I will confine myself to the movies that I thought were bad that did not amuse me...

1. "Eraserhead"
2. " Very Bad People"
3. "Moon in the Gutter"
4. "Liquid Sky"
5. "Revenge for a Rape"

I'm sure there are more, but these immediately come to mind, "Eraserhead" was my instant reaction when I read the thread title; truly a pointless waste of time...

How could you say that??? :o Its incredible! A great part of history IMO. Its one of the most wonderful movies ever to be produced...

My personal worst is a movie me and my sister came across at 3am, while very bored, and very awake, on some random unknown pathetic channel... it was called "flesh and blood" We laughed through the whole thing. It was so awful it was actually funny. We still joke about it... a year later ;D

JAWS, i never have a bath only a shawer incase Jaws swims and finds me.

Showers are much more dangerous.

Sharks are rare but rats are everywhere.  Bathtubs drain slowly so the trap can be small, but showers need to drain faster so the trap must be designed bigger.  They are big enough for rats to come up through and bite your feet.  It's actually quite common.  Sometimes they can get out of a toilet too, but that's not that common - the siphon trap in a toilet is wide enough but also much longer.

Sorry, I'm an engineer, I get interested in these things.

i heard somewhere that more people are killed every year by falling coconuts than by sharks. something like 15 times as many.

Surprised no one's mentioned the official worst film ever made - good ol "Plan 9 from outer Space".  I actually didn't find it that entertaining.  Apart from the goofs which are fun to spot, it is actually a very stupid film!
I'd have to say Cocktail would be on my most boring/pointless film ever made list.

wikipedia defines the worst films ever.  'plan 9 from outer space' is considered the worst.

Ed Wood's movies are so bad they are entertaining, I guess not everyone has my sense of the absurd. Does anyone remember "Mystery Science Theater 3000", where the hosts would make snide and hilarious comments about incredibly bad sci-fi and horror movies, while the movies were playing? I don't think it's on anymore...

Cocktail. Very bad. Funny how "ol' chipmunk cheeks" keeps coming back up like a bad clam in this thread...  ;D

Labyrinth was the worst.  2001: A Space Odessy was the most boring cause it was so long.  I only watched it because Ligeti's music was in it.  TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT.

I Heart Huckabees, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou are my favorites.

Then there is Andy Warhol's movie "Sleep" that is just him sleeping for 8 hours.  That has got to be pretty bad.
