Great Pianists left off of the "Great Pianists"

Pick 2 who should/could have made it on the list.  I left people like Longdongah and Yundi off coz I don't tink dey would have had a reputation equal to these guys when the CD's were released.
I'd probably say Lazar and Fiorentino.

I also chose Boris Old Boy, except I hear (and comparing with the sheet music) his performance of certain Liszt pieces are quite far out... so kill me for picking him! I can't say I actually heard many of the pianists on the list, the music that is... recognise the names though O_o

And the Hamelin was tempting, but frankly... I'm just to newly aquainted with his style.

I never heard of this Top 100 thing though, lol, it was a programme on TV? Honestly, I miss everything, I saw the second quarter of Art Of Piano on TV today... another programme I missed the start off *sighs* What a history of that I have :/ Looked well good though!

I feel Annie Fischer has to be on the list.

I can't pick a 2nd one.  I hesitate between Lazar Berman, Fiorentino and Sokolov.

This poll doesn't have a snowflake's of getting reliable results, another reason to rethink this poll buisiness. Only being allowed to name 2 dooms the poll's reliability from the start: what if someone thinks 5 people were equally unjustly omitted and either make an arbitrary choice or withhold? And nobody could possibly think of all candidates every forum member might want to name. I bet a few people here would have voted for Katsaris had he been in the list.
I would vote for (in no order): Barere, Katsaris, Berman, Hamelin, Landowska, Pogorelich (The Pogomeister was initially included in the series but objected to this for some reason.)

First, why aren't Bachauer, Barere, Lazar Berman, Hamelin, Novaes, Petri, Pogorelich, Rosenthal and Sauer included? On the other hand, the CONDUCTOR-who-conducts-from-the-piano-once-in-a-while Andre Previn is included. What the heck???

"Great Pianists according to Tom Deacon" is a better title. Apart from the glaring omissions, I thought it was blatantly obvious that Phillips was trying to push their own artists. This is the only reason why Previn was included and Brendel got 3 (!!!) sets.

I don't particularly care about reliable results - all it is is the opinion of the forum members.  It's not like I'm gonna send it to Tom Deacon and say include these people coz a couple of pianists think you should!!  Of course it's gonna be subjective Just like virtually everything said on every topic is.
I can add Katsaris if you want.

I was pissed when I saw the movie and Annie Fisher wasn't there. Lazar Berman would have been a good pick, too; although his tone did sound like nothing short of a pile of bricks getting dropped on the piano.

As is my opinion of him but some people at this forum do like him.
