what do you think of this piece by liszt? I have to say you had better be good at scales and trills. if you have never heard it you can get a free audio recording at

Not bad, some premonitions of Messaien there maybe.
However, I prefer its companion piece, Legend No.2,
St.Francis of Paola walks upon the waters
. I am learning this (sporadically) at present, it's quite a good LH study.

There's nuthin wrong with birds in music or inp reaching to them, after all they your brothers and sisters in God's eyes.
And birds sounds cool in music after all birds make music too so they should know hyuk hyuk hyuk.
Listen to the song by Ravel and i swear you hear birds everywhere but it sounds really cool.
birdsongs are cool-both kinds hyuk hyuk hyuk.

I always prefered his music from Harmonies Poetiques et Religiouse. Pensee de les Morts is one of his most underrated pieces IMO.
