Does anyone have any sheet music by this composer? I have just heard my first piece of his - "Intermezzo" - and feel I have made a great new discovery  :D,

I heard Stephen Osbourne play a prelude of his which I thought was really wonderful.

Sorry STEVEN.  Hell of a recital you played a while back here in nyc after your Naumburg win.

Eddie, I'm glad to see Kapustin is getting some recognition.I think his piano works are great! Anyway, if you want to try one of his pieces, do a google search and type in the following: kapustin motive force
When all the related sites come up there should be one called Otto van rijens shostakovich and other soviet composers page.Go into this site and you will be able to print off a free copy of Kapustin's Motive Force, it's a fun piece but getting the timing right is a bit tricky. If you want to hear the piece there are some midi files online but you should get the cd of kapustin playing his own works and also Steve Osborne's cd.

I have Kapustin's Second Sonata for piano, it's a copy of his handwritten score, pretty hard to read, but worth it. When I was studying in Moscow with Nikolai Petrov, I was desperate for that piece, so Petrov gave it to me.
No problem to send it to you if you want it. It's a great piece.

That would be great thanks! I just received Steven Osborne's CD today with the second piano sonata on it,

I have the sheet music to all of Kapustin's solo piano works.   What are you interested in?
