Hors d'oeuvres
on: February 23, 2006, 01:52:14 AM
We've talked about our favorite dishes and such befrore, but I am in the mood for some incredible hors d'oeuvres.  I might even like these better than the meal (I suppose it depends) ;).

Let's see.... I don't get the opportunity to "go out" too much, but some of my favorite appetizers have been things like :

Stuffed mushrooms
Steamed clams
Calamari
Prawns and Cocktail (or just plain)

hmmmm.... let's put more together :)  Also, please feel free to share any recipes for these tasties that you may wish.

cream cheese is the key to quick easy hors d'oeuvres, imo.  you can add anything, put it on a piece of bread.  cut into four triangles and voila!  a small cuisinart is good for chopping and mixing with cream cheese.

i  LOVE tuna (well drained and patted dry) with some capers, a few sweet pickles, and whatever else mixed into the cream cheese.

or, devilled eggs/black olives/capers chopped and mixed into cream cheese.

stuffed cherry tomatoes with rice are good!

devilled eggs with black olives chopped and mixed in.

nachos with lots of cilantro.

cheesy breadsticks

chicken wings

lemon tarts

grapes - frozen?

potatoe skins (whip potatoes and dab of sour cream)

Bacon wrapped chicken livers, broiled with or without the water chestnuts.

You can eat these on the Atkins diet.  Well you could if you could stay on that thing!  <g>
