Please help with purchase of a digital piano
on: March 01, 2006, 03:11:41 AM
I have a standard acoustic, but will be starting College next year and need a digital piano for my dorm room. Please list the BEST pianos you can find for under $3000 and for under $2000, thank you so much.

My advise is just to go to a shop where they have lots of different digital piano's, just to TRY OUT. Make sure you try out both with headphones and without, because both have to be good. And when you try out without headphones, don't be shy and put volume high enough (like real piano) because else it might not sound realistic.

Btw, don't listen to the sellers talking about technique etc, and definitly don't let him convince you to buy a piano because it has more functions. Purely go for the piano sound.

In my opinion the yamaha clavinova series have the best sounds/samples (i bought clp-950),  but as i said before, try out and buy the one you like most.
