What do the stars next to people's username mean? Could someone please explain?

Since the change from pianoforum.net to pianostreet.com they do not mean anytning special.
Silver members have three silver stars and gold members have five gold stars.

actually nils is in denial of the fact that the gold stars secretly mean we are ridiculously good looking, and the elite members of this forum- but the silver starred people aren't meant to know that in case they get jealous...;)

Why are you angry Nils? Now everyone knows just how dashing and knowledgable you are now since you have 6 stars, 1 more than the gold members. :-X

hahaha, the unspoken secret corruption of the forum, i am a high profile legendary member, and giving me gold status would encourage more people to purchase memberships, but *censored*.

yes there is a massive secret behind the gold membership, it is really a highly elite society of good looking people and you get free steinways and all sheet music and a 90% greater chance of getting into the top music conservatoriums throughout the world, all because you're ridiculously good looking.

but i don't think i was meant to mention that...

Free Steinways? I think you're mistaken.... All gold members get free grand pianos of their choice! ;D Really, Tash. I thought you would have remembered all our privileges by now. Tsk tsk...

Oh, yeah? Well I bet you can't top my 20 foot Stuart & Sons that is covered with 18k gold, except of course the areas covered with golf ball sized emeralds, sapphires, rubies, diamonds, opals, amethysts, aquamarines, topaz and peridots! It has quite a remarkable tone and action, too. Cost me $72 million.

Each of my stars stands for the pianos I've taken out during a piano duel.  I also paint one of the side my own piano.

The stars originally went along with your number of posts and "member title" like newbie, junior member, full member, etc.   I didn't realize things had changed.

I liked the old method more.  you could still keep the rich gold and the poor silver.

hmmm that's quite impressive. did i mention that mine was hand painted by myself, inspired by the contemporary australian music of ross edwards, peter sculthorpe and john peterson- total unique one of a kind, i plan on using it at my debut at the sydney opera house, by then i think i will have diamonds placed around the edges to match my diamond tiara and heels

Yes you are all jealous of my 3 octave electric keyboard, complete with rubber buttons, plastic shell, the huge selection of 5 different sounds, polyphony of 16 notes, 1 pedal, and a cardboard carying case.  I love the touch, it's so light that 3 pennies can press a key down.  Not to mention, the nice looking unique power adapter that requires colourful duct tape to keep it in one piece.   It was such a great deal,  the sales man gave me the black keys for free!

Now now Tash, you still haven't told them the whole truth.  Remember those honorary doctorate degrees Nils gives out.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

hmmm if i don't return to this forum in the next few days it is because nils has hunted me down and killed me for spilling the gold member deal...

Yes, I'm just glad that I changed to gold as quickly as I did. Luckily I wasn't silver for long enough to be taken advantage of.
