Chopin Prelude No.4: Smorz???
on: March 01, 2006, 03:17:53 PM
What does smorz mean? I just found it inside a diminuendo near the end of Chopin's No.4 prelude, and the image of Chopin roasting schmores on an open fire whilst composing this came to mind.....but not the actual way of playing it :-\

Please help,
Henrah

smorz: Short for smorzando. Means that you should let the music "die out". (Smorzando translates to dying).
