Introduction and Question
on: October 31, 2003, 02:23:31 AM
Hello all. I am new on this forum so I'll introduce myself briefly. My name is John, and I am (surprise) a pianist. I am completing a masters degree in December.

I am curious if any pianist has any experience or knowledge of the condition known as "trigger finger." I have, unfortunately, a case of this in my right hand, which, although not painful, is not a desirable condition for a pianist to have. I have received a cortizone injection for this, to no avail. I can get it fixed surgically, but am a bit tentative. Does anyone have any advice or opinions?

As it stands, I am studying some left-hand repertory, but I would like to have my right hand work better.

This seems like a great site!

John

Vitamin B6 helps, or go to a health food store and ask them for advise.  B.J.

Trigger finger is a condition in which one or more of the tendons in the palm of one's hand do not rest smoothly in their "tunnels" but slip in and out of place....In my case it is not painful but is problematic for playing the piano.
